Playoffs

Dave has a Wildcard game. Game up under Fisher's account if anybody wants to see the progression. Dave, come to Ellis street to play your game.

I want to suggest something for a vote. After seeing what Fisher's team did to Ryan's in a simmed game, I propose that we are at least allowed to play against Fisher's team as a computer team in the playoffs. I think with his 99 awareness team that it will still be a good game and would only be fair. Comments?

But what about when Fisher gets his PS2 up and running online? Who will get to play the games? My vote is to keep simming them.

This will work well. We have 5 people, so a simple majority will decide.

I'm going to play a game against Fishers team today just to see how it is. I'm assuming they will be very difficult to beat, as you've said.

My vote is to sim them. Ryan brings up a good point about who gets to decide who plays against a computert controlled team. Maybe Fisher would want to play against our computer controlled team instead .

I assume that Marr has abstained, so it's already 2-1, but I'll vote for simming too. (big surprise!!)

Otherwise, I'm very close to being able to play my damn games. I have an apartment, and a PS2 area is nearly set up. Only issue is that my real internet might take a while (I'll be stealing my neighbor's wireless until then) -- so, updates will follow!

Also, if someone could make sure that my young DEs and LG are listed as starters for all non-playoff games, they would be a real Saint!!! Thanks & I love you all!

Also, do we know/have we ever tried to play a league game online??

For games that I'd have to play against any of you, this could be a great option if it is possible.
(spawn game, I think it's called??)

Timing could work fine on any weekend -- ie- your Friday night, my Saturday morning, or my evening & your morning on Saturday or Sunday.

I do this Madden League to play games, not sim them. A reasonable compromise is to sim the season/meaningless games and play the playoff/meaningful ones. As to who decides who plays the games or sims the games the answer is simple...I did not move across the world, therefore I want to play my damn games. I can't believe there is even a vote on this and what's more appalling is that logic and fairness are losing. I forget that I am going against Fisher though and here luck always prevails.

If there is indeed an option to play the games live online then we should most definitely do that.

Hope Japan is nice.

Game up for me vs. Marr or Ettore vs. Fisher.
My original inclination was to sim this year's games with Fisher, but this is not something that can go on forever. Therefore I have two different ideas to propose:

1)All Fisher vs. Human regular season games are simmed, and Fisher vs. human playoff games alternate by season between being played by people in Japan and people in the US. We could flip a coin to see who gets them this season to start with. This way we all get to play half of our playoff games against Fisher, and Fisher gets to play half of his playoff games against us. This is fair and easy.

The second way is less easy, but more competitive. Both Fisher and the person he's playing in the playoffs play the game, and the scores from both games are added to see who wins. For example, Ettore and Fisher need to play in the Conference round. Mark plays the game and wins 34-21, Fisher plays the same game and wins 24-17. Mark's team's total is 34+17=51, Fisher's team's total is 21+24=45, therefore Mark's team wins and we keep the saved game that has him winning and go on from there.

Both of these methods are superior to simming all the games or having the games played by the 4 of us exclusively. My vote is for the second method as it allows the two people to actually compete with each other to see who wins, rather than simply "allowing" one of the people to play (beat, probably) the computer.

Ryan's 2nd idea is smart, creative, and completely solves our problem. Hail to the king baby!

i'm going to have to agree with ryan's second method, grudgingly, unless we can figure out a way to play over the world wide web. this way both people get to play a game. i just don't like it entirely because my offense isn't based around scoring a lot of points. but anyway, it's a good compromise i suppose.

we've decided to play these games with injuries off. make sure you turn off injuries before you play fisher. the game is up for you to download. when can you play?

Mark lost his game to your team Fish, so if you win against him you can play the superbowl against me as well.

We should schedule the offseason for this weekend. If Fisher can't play by then, we should just assume he moves on to the superbowl. I don't mind simming the superbowl, so we can just sim it and go to the offseason.

In my version of the superbowl, the patriots defeated the saints 63-31. Its up on my account if anyone wants to see the stats. I forgot to download the "current" version of the game and simply simmed my conference game with marr and Ettore's game with Fisher to get to the superbowl, so if I wind up winning over Fisher, I'll get a current post-conference-championship version (either the one Ettore played or the one Fisher played, Fisher's preference assuming he beats Mark) and I'll replay the superbowl, or just sim it until I win (might take a long time).

So, Fisher, assuming you move on to the big dance, you must defeat the Patriots by 32 points to be crowned the champ.

Anticipating internet on Saturday or Sunday -- but, don't hold your breath & do as you wish to move the league along for now!
