I beat the Browns 135-14. Is this the most points a team has ever scored in our Madden league? Also, these were all offensive touchdowns, although 6 turnovers helped out immensely.
Game up for Fisher.
On another, disturbing note, I noticed something while looking through the statistics. Even though DRok has over 120 tds, Carson Palmer, in over 100 fewer attempts and with a game still to go, has more passing yards.
Up for Bradys. In other news, the "real" Brady just looked helpless when faced by mediocre Free Safety Randy Devine. After catching a "hat trick" of picks, Devine had no comment. Speaking of safetys, the Saints picked up two two-pointers this game!!
The Divisional round saw a stompaging of the Yetis by the 49ers. Otherwise the usual suspects (Bradys, Bison, Saints) advanced. The Bradys relied on the long ball to defeat the the Bison in the AFC Championship and the Saints squeaked by the 49ers by 3 in a simmed game in which the 49ers kicker missed a pair of field goals. Thus, two 18-0 teams met in the Superbowl. The Saints could not get anything going offensively, with the Bradys stifling defense providing 3 interceptions on the way to a 23-3 simmed victory. The Probowl, as usual, was a waste of time.
Off-Season Update:
NFC Champion New Orleans Saints profile: In a suprise move the New Orleans Saints signed former Raiders (Now the Boston Bradys) defensive coordinator Rex Ryan to a 2 year deal reportedly worth as much as $1.8 million with incentives. Commented team owner, GM, and coach Kevin "Fish" Fisher "My head scout R.Michs said he was the best available. Like most teams the Saints cut some of their crappier players, once again on the advice Michs and defensive mastermind D. Schmitt. Next up for the Saints, free agency.
This in no way implies the game is up for you Kev. I am not interested in any free agents and neither is Dave. Steve wants at least one and I'm not sure if Ettore has looked yet. Mark leaves today for a business trip or something and won't be back until Friday night. We're planning on doing the draft and such on Saturday so here's the plan. When the game is up, look through the free agents (using the roster screen so no time passes) and anyone you want, put your bid in. Also post to the blog some notes (also a preference list in case there are some contested players) so that when we advance a day we know what to do for you. Hopefully we'll get free agency done Friday night, post so you can do your rookie scouting (unless you don't intend to, as I believe has been the case in the past), you'll upload and post a preference list of players names and positions (or just positions if you don't care about the scouting) and we'll do the draft some time Saturday.
I think a bunch of your guys gained awareness during the off-season.
Awesome! So, if the opportunity is still there, please move me to Hawaii, make the biggest possible stadium & call me the "Tokyo Samurai" -- pick a suitable icon & red & white for the colors.
Otherwise, I don't want to scout, as usual. Email to Ryan is forthcoming regarding my draft strategy (mainly just filler picks).
As for Free Agency -- I'm generally happy with my team, but will be looking for maybe some defensive upgrades (especially secondary) so let me know when the time for that is. Cheers!
Unfortunately the time for free agency is now, so we can't move your team. Also, since Ettore's gone, no one uploaded on Tuesday night (or simply didn't post), and Marr doesn't check the blog, maybe the draft isn't happening this weekend after all.
I will do everything in my power to get the game up tonight for you to check out the free agents.
However, if this doesn't happen, you should tell me what positions you're looking for. I believe you have a good amount of cap room and since your highest pick is in the 4th round, a lot of it can go towards free agents. Also, there are a lot of highly rated (although not that highly prized by us, because of their age and the awareness windfall from the "Team Leaders" boost) free agents, so if you tell me some positions you would like a good veteran at I'll try to find good fits for you money/stats/age wise.
To Michs (and all others), I'll be heading to Kyoto Monday morning (your Sunday night) and will be there until Tuesday night (your Tuesday morning), so please handle my off-season stuff in the usual manner.
As for free agents, I'm generally happy with my team... only weak areas that I'd appreciate upgrades are my secondary (mainly FS and CB). Otherwise, lines are all good. If there are any good (ie- fast & mediocre) receivers, I want them.
Also, if I have room to blow, just sign the best non-k/p free agents to one-year deals. Thanks (but, save room for necessary fillers from the draft)

Balls is up for Ryan & Dave!
I got my shit done, as did Stallwort*.
Following Steve-o's pronunciation, I'm leaving the last "h" off for "health" (that injury-prone icon could be the death of me!)
"The man" left all his controllers at Ellis, so won't be playing his game until the WeWiiBowl tonight.

No probs.
Also, I sent my draft plans to you all.
Of course, let me know when I can look at the free agents.

I'm officially giving up trying to organize this. If someone arranges a time to do the draft, give me a call.
Fisher, if you want to start a new league with me, I'm all about it.
i don't think that steve, myself, and dave don't want to continute the league. i just think that certain circumstances have halted the progress.
